Triple-O Acoustic Guitar – Ableton Live Sampler Instrument

Written by Critical Vibrations on . Posted in Live Packs

The Triple-O Acoustic Guitar is a set of three instrument racks for Ableton Live, a gorgeously multi-sampled Martin 000-15S acoustic guitar.

The 000-15S is an auditorium model, which is a smaller design just a step larger than a parlor guitar, with a mahogany body for a wonderful balance of tones, including a rich bottom end and crisp highs. It’s a guitar especially loved by fingerstyle players for its tone and versatility. This particular instrument was graciously loaned for sampling by singer/songwriter Justin Spicer of the band Saint Somebody. First, I tuned the guitar to DADGAD (also a fingerstyle favorite) and then recorded it directly into Live through the bridge piezo pickup.

The three instruments in this Live Pack include a “regular acoustic guitar” plucked string instrument, which include finger noise samples that play on note release, with programmable volume. Next, there’s one using samples of string harmonics for a full chromatic range instrument. To top it off, I made a drum rack with some more harmonics (full open string harmonics at the 5th, 7th, and 12th frets), a few basic chords that you can expand upon with the transpose setting adjustment, and some guitar body percussion.

Every sample has up to 8 or more round-robin variations, all recorded at 48K/24bit, for the most high-fidelity natural sound possible! And everything has been converted to Simpler, so you don’t need to own the Sampler instrument to use them. Give the example tracks a listen…I’d love to know what you think!

Requires Ableton Live v10.0.2 or higher.
